Dreamy Dog Friendly A-Frame

If you are anything like me, the summer heat has you dreaming of a cabin vacation in the woods. And, I know just the spot!

We were recently hosted at the Oasis of the Trees A-Frame at Mangata Mactaquac, and oh my, I did not want to leave! Mangata Mactaquac is located in Scotch Lake, New Brunswick, not far from the capital of Fredreicton. The property consists of 27 acres of beautiful forest and features 5 luxury A-Frame cabins. Each cabin is located near a beautiful brook, has a private wood fired hot tub, fire pit and all the comforts of home. And yes, these beautiful cabins are dog friendly!

If you are visiting the Capitol Region of New Brunswick, Mangata Mactquac is the place to stay. The property borders on to Mactquac Provincial Park, with a trail to the park right on site. The park offers over 30km of dog friendly hiking trails (dogs must be on leash in the Provincial Park). But, if hiking isn't your thing there is still lots to do within a 30 minute drive from the cabins. Visit Crabbe Moutain for skiing on winter visits, shopping and dine in Fredericton, take in some history at King's Landing, visit TreeGo or the Mactquac Golf Course or check out the beach and marina. There is also a little gem of a hiking trail to Magnata Falls on the property!

However, with all the comforts of home, ok more than all the comforts of home if we're honest, you may not want to leave the cabin. I wouldn't blame you one bit. The Osais of the Trees cabin has a queen bed in the main level bathroom and a queen bed in the loft. There is a full kitchen, dining table, covered deck with barbeque and beautiful bathroom with an amazing shower! Outside you can have a campfire or relax listening to the sounds of the stream in the wood fired hot tub under a cedar canopy with twinkling lights. I mean it when I say this place is perfect. We hiked to the falls and explored the provinical park a bit, but mostly we relaxed with the dogs at the cabin, enjoying the large private yard and all the amenaties.

Mangata Mactquac is not only dog friendly, but dog welcoming. We were pleased to find dishes, waste bags and even a dog bed at the cabin when we arrived.

If you are planning a trip to New Brunswick, make sure Mangata Mactquac is on your destination list. In our experience, New Brunswick is an under rated gem for adventure with dogs, and with places like this to stay, I would say it is greatly under rated! And, if you aren't planning a trip to New Brunswick, I think you should!
